    AlTerra was founded in Wilmington, North Carolina by Jackie, whose passion for fashion and management experience created a clothing retailer that is committed to providing fashionable children's clothing that is also comfortable, durable and environmentally friendly.

    As a former healthcare professional, with over 20 years of experience in the industry, Jackie has always been concerned about the impact of products on our health and environment. Her commitment to preserving the environment is a cornerstone of her business ethics..

    Wooden Toys

    We now offer Mentari wooden toys, crafted from sustainably sourced, SVLK-certified reclaimed rubber wood and birch plywood, supporting responsible forestry practices. Their production meets strict global safety standards and is certified by the ICTI Ethical Toy Program, ensuring fair labor and safe, non-toxic materials. With plastic-free packaging and a commitment to replanting trees for every one used, Mentari prioritizes long-term environmental impact. These values align perfectly with Alterra Retail’s mission to offer thoughtfully made, planet-conscious products for families.

    Quality Products

    Our clothes are manufactured using natural fabrics such as cotton, wool, linen, silk, and bamboo. To enhance comfort, a small percentage (up to 5%) of other materials may be incorporated into some products.

    We proudly now carry a line of clothing made from Organic Pima Cotton and a line of wooden toys sustainably manufactured from rubber wood (a by-product of the Latex industry).
